The 9th Altar in the Serpentine Field – Art Film & Immersive Installation
World Premiere at Inhabiting Esoteric Ecologies🜏 Saturday, 15-16 March | London
The 9th Altar in the Serpentine Field will see the light of day for the first time during Inhabiting Esoteric Ecologies, a gathering dedicated to art and esoteric engagements with more-than-human ecologies. This unveiling magickally coincides with the Year of the Snake—a potent alignment for those attuned to the powers of transformation, transmutation, and serpentine wisdom.
The 9th Altar is a site of emergence. Elemental forces and serpentine life forms evolve eyes, consciousness, and presence. In the spectral glow of the altar, a woman passes by—silent, ephemeral—kneeling with jars of offerings. She emerges from nowhere and vanishes like mist, a serpent embracing a stone in a timeless gesture.
This 9-minute art film and immersive installation is an integral part of The Serpentine Collection by Lila Moore, a body of work emerging from a nine-year pilgrimage to a serpentine site on a Greek island, where Penelope’s Island is visible on the horizon. Aesthetically technoetic and magickal, the collection embodies a fluid tech-noetic exchange between myth, ritual, mysticism, futurism, and the living Earth.
Fragments of this work have been published and presented in leading academic journals and conferences, tracing the process of creation, attunement, and revelation. A dedicated monograph on The Serpentine Collection is now taking form.
🔮 For those who walk in the serpentine love field, this is an invitation.
✨ For those who dream of imaginal sites, this is an altar awaiting devotion.
🐍 For those who seek the hidden, the transformation has already begun.
